About the Platform

Users of AdvicePay are financial advisors who use our platform to get paid by their clients for fee-for-service financial planning. Advisors can issue agreements for client e-signature, accept ACH and credit cards, bill hourly or one-time fees, and establish recurring subscription payments while remaining fully compliant with current industry regulations.

About the Position

AdvicePay is looking for a Human Resources Manager to contribute to our fast-growing team by completing the many projects and tasks required to successfully support team members and attract top talent. Think: HR, payroll, benefits, hiring, onboarding, professional development, and team events! You’ll have the opportunity to report directly to the Managing Director, playing an integral role in helping team members feel valued, supported, and cared for. This is a full-time position for an organized, self-motivated, hard-working, and detail-oriented individual with a deep appreciation for delivering a stellar team member experience - from the moment they come across our careers page and throughout their tenure at AdvicePay.

What You’ll Do

  • Human Resources
    • Manage all key HR processes, from overseeing & managing onboarding/offboarding tasks during the hiring process to preparing and tracking all internal forms for electronic signature. You’ll support our team members to ensure they’re successfully following all policies and procedures!
    • Assess reports provided by managers and the leadership team to determine employee performance and training needs
    • Implement additional HR-related projects and programs to best support our team
  • Hiring Manager
    • Create recruitment plans, interview schedules, and evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies and labor laws
    • Coordinate with our in-house voice and tone expert and the open position’s manager to ensure job postings scream “This job is for you!” to the candidates we’re looking for
    • Post jobs within our online hiring tool (Recruitee), then manage the hiring process to ensure tasks are completed by the team, candidates are updated regularly, and the entire hiring process (whether someone gets the job or not) is a wonderful one that makes them want to apply again
    • Recruit new team members and spread the word about open positions
    • Apply for hiring grants to support our fast-paced growth
  • Payroll and Benefits:
    • Track and manage compensation & reimbursement requests for team members, contractors, and interns
    • Run payroll for all Salaried and Hourly team members
    • Administer our benefits and ensure they are accurately updated and reflected through payroll, as well as keep a finger on the pulse of what matters to team members as it relates to our total benefits package so that you can make recommendations accordingly
    • Assist with and manage projects like annual tax preparation data gathering and compensation analysis, state compliance filings, and the like
    • Serve as the resident Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all things benefits and payroll. You’ll be our go-to person for team member questions and requests around payroll, benefits, HR, training, and events, ensuring excellent team member experiences are maintained and information is consistently and thoroughly communicated!
  • Training and Development
    • We give all full-time team members $2,000/year for professional development, and we want them to use it! You'll help team members find effective ways to use their funds to grow in their positions and career goals, as well as track fund utilization and aim to increase it year-over-year.
  • Internal Events
    • You’ll plan and coordinate our quarterly retreats, team lunches, events, and parties - we love to have fun!
    • Support our team as the administrator of all business travel for team members and job candidates

    • Spreadsheets to track and review payroll, benefits, compensation, etc. are your friends!

    • Strong communication skills - you’re comfortable talking to anyone, even about the tough stuff, as required of an HR Manager

    • You shine working independently to research HR-related questions and dig deep to find answers and then explain them clearly to the team

    • Familiarity with HR processes and record-keeping practices preferred

    • A desire to keep our data and information (documents, files, folders, etc.) organized and readily accessible

    • A current understanding of (and/or desire and capacity to achieve a deep understanding of) all benefits and compensation programs, regulations, and best practices

    • A (some might say) rare love and appreciation for payroll (bonus points for experience with Gusto - totally not necessary, though)

    • Working knowledge of federal and varying state benefits and employment law and/or regulations

    • A proven ability to constantly prioritize multiple projects in a get sh!t done atmosphere

    • While you likely adore structure - and equally adore creating structure - you’ll also feel equally comfortable with ambiguity as part of a rapid-growth company

    • A love of technology to add efficiency to get the job done - you’re comfortable diving in to learn new tech tools

    • Legally authorized to work and live in US

    • Bachelor's degree (or related equivalent experience) in human resources, human resources management, business administration, operations, communications, or other related program

What Will Make Us Drool

While totally not necessary, props to folks who have one or more of the following:

    • 1 - 3+ years previous experience in human resources, talent acquisition, payroll, and/or benefits

    • A SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) certification

    • Other related certifications, such as CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)

Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary: $73,000 per year based on accountabilities for the position and our transparent salary structure shared with all team members during their first week

    • Unlimited vacation days to maintain work-life harmony (we require you to take a minimum of 3 weeks of vacation per year)

    • 10 paid holidays when the office is closed

    • 401(k) with match - you put in 6% and we put in 4.5%
